What can you replace a BoilerMate with? In our opinion the best alternative to your BoilerMate could be to replace it with a Thermal Store , like the Thermflow from McDonald Water Storage. A Thermal Store is a simplified version of the BoilerMate.

How does a BoilerMate 2 work? The BoilerMate BP thermal storage system is supplied with primary water from the boiler which heats the store via a primary coil. Secondary water flows directly from the cold mains into a secondary coil where it is heated by the store before being delivered to the taps.

Heat exchangers are utilised to take pre-heated water from the thermal store (which is open vented) and impart the energy into the mains pressure water passing through the unit via a heat exchanger.
