fileslib. This 3 day course consists of three mandatory units: Unit 1 – Understanding the principles of manual handling in the workplace. This unit develops the learner’s knowledge of the principles and processes that underpin safe handling in the workplace. Unit 2 – Application of safe practices to manual handling activities.
Staff should always ensure they follow correct manual handling procedures whilst in an EarlyYears setting. This is to ensure they don’t cause injury to themselves or others. Manual handling is used by moving equipment or lifting a child. Within my setting we always move equipment in pairs and only move something if it is necessary.
The manual handling regulations state that anybody who performs manual handling should receive suitable training. People whose work may require manual handling includes, but isn’t limited to: Warehouse and factory staff. Heavy manual labourers. Construction and building site workers. Office workers. Delivery drivers. Kitchen staff. Farmhands.
The Candidate will be required to demonstrate and instruct one Manual Handling Technique to a group of Learners and provide constructive feedback and silent demonstrate 3 other techniques. Carry out a range of Manual Handling Techniques and apply these To a range of Manual Handling Tasks (30 marks)
